Chef Kenneth Molyneaux
Chef Kenneth Molyneaux was born and raised on the beautiful island of Tortola. As a young boy growing up in Long Bay, Ken (as he is affectionately called) developed an interest in the culinary arts. This interest blossomed as he worked alongside his mother in her kitchen and learned about the different herbs, seasonings, flavours, cooking techniques and indigenous foods found in these islands and throughout the Caribbean.
Kenneth went on to study Culinary Arts at the New England Culinary Institute where learned to develop his own unique style and flair and graduated with honours and at the top of his class. He also received the President’s Award for the most outstanding performance in the Culinary Arts.
Over the years Chef Ken sharpened his skills as he pursued his career at many leading hotels and restaurants throughout the British Virgin Islands such as Long Bay Beach Hotel, Heritage Inn, Peter Island and Treasure Aisle.
Chef Ken was proud to showcase the BVI’s local cuisine as a Guest Chef at several establishments such as Necker Island Hotel, St. Maarten French Restaurant, 2009 Winemakers Dinner, and at the Boatyard Bar & Grill in Annapolis, Maryland. He was also featured in Saveur Magazine for the Saveur Summer BBQ which was held in New York in 2011. Chef Ken also has judged several competitions such as the BVI Charter Yacht Society’s Boat Show Competition and the BVI Food Fete in 2014.
Chef Ken has been the Team Captain for the National Culinary Team since 2007 and was given the opportunity to lead the Team into a proud victory receiving a Gold Medal in 2011. Confident in his unique styles and flavours Chef Ken also entered the Chef of the Year and individual Certified Angus Beef Competition and was awarded gold medals in each category. To date Chef Ken has received 3 Bronze, 5 Silver and 3 Gold Medals.
Chef Ken is one of our finest ambassadors from the British Virgin Islands and his mouth watering flavours are always present in his creations. He has worked his way up the culinary ladder for many years and now owns Tropical Fusion Beach Bar & Grill located in Long Bay.
